Knowing that we were in the company of a very special talent that night, no time was wasted in trying to secure her return. And it’s not just us who she’s impressed…

She has been turning heads in the UK jazz world everywhere she has played – her rapid progress is startling, being described as a force to be reckoned with’ (Jazzwise) and a fast rising star’ (London Jazz News). All the more remarkable when you consider Emma is just 19, she began playing saxophone aged 15, and only settled on tenor sax a year later.

Emma is a natural performer. Her music has a unique sound, fusing all her many influences, and her compositions range from lilting Afro Cuban inspired grooves to hard hitting modern jazz and funk numbers. She says

“I just love what I do. I love it so much. Even when I play a tiny jazz gig, and it’s not paid very much money, playing great music with great people is just the best feeling in the world.”

Could the timing of her visit to Louth be any better? To have the chance to experience a live performance from a young star in the making is a wonderful opportunity for every jazz enthusiast in our area.
